Finance and governanceBooks (accounting)

Double-entry accounting with sales, purchases, banking, tax, inventory, assets and group consolidation.

Books is accounting for growing companies: a chart of accounts with immutable posted journals, invoices and bills, bank reconciliation, sales tax, fixed assets, financial statements and group consolidation. It runs on the same platform as People, so payroll and expense claims post to the ledger without re-keying. Accountants can work from the keyboard, and outside CPAs get their own client console.

Key capabilities

  • Immutable ledger with an edit log
  • Invoices, bills and three-way match
  • Bank import, rules and reconciliation
  • Sales tax by jurisdiction and 1099s
  • Multi-currency with exchange differences
  • Group consolidation with eliminations

Dashboard and client console

  • Client console listing every company an external accountant looks after
  • Return status, unreconciled bank lines and review notes per client
